Lightweight and more than bright enough. Also you can toggle between a nice bright pointy beam or more diffuse lighting. Anyhow good luck at Massanutten.Rob Youngrenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13209371238051207413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446080505629636230.post-60492934005072317732009-02-25T14:51:00.000-04:002009-02-25T14:51:00.000-04:00hey, i have a question - i plan on coming out for ...hey, i have a question - i plan on coming out for my first fat ass at elizabeth furnace but am planning to only do the first 22. think this will be okay or frowned upon?Hoyawolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03818800511534867839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446080505629636230.post-27088670698311270952009-02-23T11:26:00.000-04:002009-02-23T11:26:00.000-04:00Great post Greg. No doubt it was perfect MMT training to make up for all the roadwork you've been putting in!

For headlamps, I LOVE my Petzl Myo XP. Bright as hell and once you're moving you don't realize you have it on. I don't think you'd want to lug around the battery pack required for those bike lights - those things are beefy. For the ultimate headlamp lighting though, check the new Petzl Ultra. It's big but it looks like running with halogen high beams!Bobby Gillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08124506401194614439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446080505629636230.post-61933955295487345062009-02-23T07:07:00.000-04:002009-02-23T07:07:00.000-04:00Ed, hopefully May will seem easy after this one. ...Ed, hopefully May will seem easy after this one. Kinda why I wanted to run it. As Horton says "you gotta suffer to be able to suffer " I definately don't expect to be alone as much in MMT. I probably only ran with someon for 2 of the 19+ hours Saturday.

Kiry thanks for the link to Bryon's review. I also would like to hear from some Bikers that might know of some great lights. On my run commute on the bike path some of the bikers coming at me have phenomenal lights.I am a runner. No matter which direction you do the Ring in, the last several miles always suck. Still you were faster than in the 2005 Ring when we had great weather after the rain quit.

The middle of May will seem easy for us compared the 71 miles of torture on the Massanutten Trail you just did.

Happy trails,

Ed CappuccinoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
